Description

Heavy-Duty Skin Repair That Quick-Dries in Seconds.

You work hard with your hands, brave the saltwater, and face down the elements. Your skin takes an absolute beating, but greasy supermarket moisturisers that leave your hands too slick to hold a spanner, a steering wheel, or a fishing rod aren’t the answer. Canna Oils Trade Strength Tallow Balm is engineered specifically for men who need maximum skin restoration without the slip. It’s a premium, rugged formula built to protect your most important tools— your hands.

Tallow does the heavy lifting — it’s long-prized in traditional skincare and naturally carries fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Golden jojoba and raw beeswax help condition the surface and lock moisture in. Hemp seed oil and beta-caryophyllene (BCP) — the same naturally occurring terpene found in cloves — add a quiet botanical thread that links this tallow to our Canna-Oils wellness range. Australian sandalwood and kunzea give it a rugged, bush-grown scent that doesn’t smell like a chemist shop. A touch of arrowroot powder gives the finish its signature dry-touch feel.

It scoops thick and warms instantly between the palms, then disappears into the skin with no slip and no shine. Use it on knuckles, calluses, heels, or any patch of weathered skin that needs softening. Hand-blended in small batches in Nelson Bay, NSW — no fillers, no synthetic fragrance, no shortcuts.

How to use

  1. Scoop a pea-sized amount from the tin with a clean fingertip — a little goes a long way.
  2. Rub firmly between your palms for two or three seconds to warm the lipids.
  3. Massage thoroughly into knuckles, calluses, heels, or weathered patches.
  4. Wait about 30 seconds for the dry-touch finish to settle.
  5. Pick up the tools and get back to it. Reapply morning, night, or after washing up.

Inside the tin

Grass-fed beef tallow (Adeps Bovis). The base of the balm. Naturally rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, with a fatty acid profile closely resembling that of human sebum. Long-loved in traditional skincare.

Golden jojoba (Simmondsia Chinensis). A light, fast-sinking botanical oil prized for its conditioning feel and long shelf life.

Beeswax (Cera Alba). Helps lock moisture into the skin’s surface and gives the balm its rugged, weather-ready texture.

Hemp seed oil + beta-caryophyllene. Hemp seed oil paired with beta-caryophyllene (BCP) — a naturally occurring terpene found in cloves, black pepper, and rosemary — the same single botanical thread we feature across our Canna-Oils wellness range.

Australian sandalwood (Santalum Spicatum) + kunzea. Two iconic Australian botanicals that give the balm its dry, bush-grown scent — sustainably sourced from WA and the east coast.

Arrowroot powder (Maranta Arundinacea). The secret to the dry-touch finish. Arrowroot absorbs surface oils so the balm sets to a matte, non-slippery feel.

Ingredients

FAQ

What is beta-caryophyllene?
It’s a naturally occurring terpene found in cloves, black pepper, rosemary, and many other botanicals. It’s the same single botanical thread we feature in our Canna-Oils wellness range, which is why it appears here too.

Does it have a strong scent?
The scent is warm, woody, and bush-grown — Australian sandalwood and kunzea give it character without being perfume-y. No synthetic fragrance.

Will it leave my hands greasy?
No. The arrowroot powder gives the balm a dry-touch matte finish, so once it’s absorbed your grip stays clean.

Can I use it on my face?
This balm is built for hands, knuckles, heels, and weathered patches. If you want a gentler everyday face product, our Whipped Tallow Facial Balm is a better fit.

How long does a 40g jar last?
Used as a hand balm a couple of times a day, most people get six to eight weeks out of a 40g tin. A little goes a long way.

What’s the shelf life?
12 months unopened, around 6 months once opened. Store below 30°C and out of direct sunlight.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
The formula is fragrance-free in the synthetic sense — the only scent comes from the sandalwood and kunzea essential oils. If you know you react to essential oils, patch test on the inside of your forearm first.

Is the tallow really grass-fed?
Yes — sourced from grass-fed Australian cattle and rendered slowly to keep the nutrient profile intact.

Is it cruelty-free?
We don’t test on animals. The tallow is a by-product of the Australian beef industry, used so that less is wasted.

Where is it made?
Hand-blended in small batches in Nelson Bay, NSW, by Canna-Oils.
