Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis and Beta Caryophyllene (BCP)!

Well we are more than halfway through November, with only just over 5 weeks until Christmas – OMG!   I know it’s a bit scary, 2022 is knocking at the door (here’s hoping it will be better than 2021).

The word I keep hearing lately is Osteoporosis, so I thought this week we’d take a look at what it is and how Canna Oils BCP can help.

Osteoporosis

Firstly, what exactly is Osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is a condition in which gradually decreasing bone mass and deteriorating bone structure leads to increased bone fragility and increased risk for fractures, particularly of the wrist, hip and spine (WHO 1994). This process progresses without symptoms until fractures occur or kyphosis becomes apparent. Thus osteoporosis is often described as a silent menace.

Once fractures and deformities have occurred, pain may become a prominent problem and a challenge for people with osteoporosis and everyone involved with their care. Such established osteoporosis is a major cause of morbidity, mortality and reduced quality of life (Lips et al 2005).

Osteoporosis stems from changes in the normal balance between bone formation and bone resorption. In osteoporosis, there is a decrease in the rate of bone formation relative to the rate of destruction.

Osteoporosis is a treatable disease and in some cases, preventable.  So… how can Canna Oils BCP help?  Well, I’m glad you asked!!

Here’s what the research found:-

An important terpene to look for is beta-caryophyllene. Beta-caryophyllene binds to CB2 receptors to enhance the actions of improving bone health and protecting against bone loss.

It is thought that Beta-Caryophyllene increases stronger bone building while decreasing bone breakdown.

The above research shows that Canna Oils BCP not only may assist in the treatment of Osteoporosis and also help to prevent it by protecting and building stronger bones.

I believe this shows once again the importance of the CB2 receptor activation of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).  If you’ve read our previous blogs you will see over and over again just how crucial the CB2 receptor is to our overall health and wellbeing – just to recap, the ECS is like the “motherboard” of our bodies, if it is not functioning correctly then the other systems in our bodies are not in balance which leads to poor health, pain, inflammation, mental health and sleep issues.  So obviously, by supplementing our ECS with Canna Oils BCP which binds DIRECTLY to the CB2 receptor, we are giving our bodies the best chance of better health and prevention.

Don’t forget to check at past BLOGS on our website – there are heaps of fascinating information about the benefits of BCP that you may have missed.
