What is BCP OIL’S role in keeping our bodies functioning optimally?

To truly understand why Beta Caryophyllene (BCP) is so effective, we first have to understand that our bodies naturally produces a cannabinoid type chemical that activates the receptors of our Endocannabinoid System (ECS ).

It is necessary to first explain why these receptors are such an important part of the body’s natural endocannabinoid system.

* The ECS is one of the body’s most extensive neurotransmitter networks.
* The ECS is best thought of as an integrated balancing system for the body.

As you might expect, a properly functioning ECS is an important part of maintaining daily health and wellness.  Its primary goal is to maintain a stable internal environment in the face of changes externally, and cannabinoid receptors in the body play an important role in how well the system regulates and maintains homoeostasis (balance).

These receptors can be found on the surface of cells in a variety of physiological areas, including:

  • The brain and central nervous system
  • The immune system
  • Connective tissue
  • Organs and glands

There are 3 types of cannabinoids that help these receptors function:

  1. Endocannabinoids are synthesised by the human body itself (naturally producing)
  2. Phytocannabinoids come from plants (like BCP, CBD & THC)
  3. Synthetic cannabinoids are compounds made by man in a laboratory (yuck!)

The body naturally produces two major endocannabinoids, or endogenous cannabinoids: anandamide (the bliss molecule)and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG)

The brain produces these endocannabinoids on demand in the brain, organs, glands, connective tissues, and immune cells.

Cannabinoid receptors also interact with phytocannabinoids, which are plant-based cannabinoids (that’s where BCP comes into the picture!).

Cloves, black pepper, cacao, echinacea, copaiba, and liverwort are among the plants that produce phytocannabinoids in addition to cannabis.

Phytocannabinoids are absorbed into the bloodstream when cannabis or other plant cannabinoid products are consumed, where they mimic the behaviours of endocannabinoids and interact with cannabinoid receptors in the body.

So there you have it – that’s why BCP is so effective – it mimics or acts just like our naturally producing cannabinoids.
