I don’t know about you, but I’m hearing more and more about people with heart issues – and I’m not talking about tainted love!!! So I figured it’s time we took a look at the heart and how Canna Oils Beta Caryophyllene (BCP)
may be beneficial.
In my weekly search through different studies about Beta Caryophyllene (BCP) I came across this study titled: CB2 Cannabinoid Receptor as a Potential Target in Myocardial Infarction: Exploration of Molecular Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Strategies. And it was only published in January 2024, so it’s hot off the press!!!
Here’s what the researchers had to say:
CB2 receptors can either activate or calm down various pathways in heart muscle cells during a heart attack (MI). These receptors are important because they protect heart muscle cells from damage when blood flow is restricted (ischemia).
During a heart attack, harmful molecules called ROS are produced due to stress and lack of blood flow. CB2 receptors help reduce the production of these harmful molecules. They also help regulate processes that decide whether heart cells live or die, like apoptosis and autophagy.
CB2 receptor activation also helps balance the release of certain chemicals that affect blood vessel dilation. This can help improve blood flow to the heart during a heart attack.
Inflammation in the heart is reduced by CB2 receptors, which means they can help protect against heart damage caused by inflammation. They also help protect heart tissue from damage caused by oxidative stress.
CB2 receptors also prevent certain channels in heart cells from opening, which helps conserve energy and prevents cell death during a heart attack.
When a substance that activates CB2 receptors is given before a heart attack, it helps maintain healthy heart function and reduces the levels of certain markers in the blood that indicate heart damage.
CB2 receptors in the cells lining blood vessels also help protect against heart attacks by reducing inflammation in those cells.
Overall, strategies that target CB2 receptors could be helpful in treating heart diseases caused by restricted blood flow, like heart attacks. However, more research is needed to fully understand how CB2 receptors work and how they interact with other molecules in the heart during a heart attack.
Let’s hope they keep researching!! You may be wondering why I’m so excited about this study – so just in case you didn’t know – Canna Oils BCP is a direct binder of the CB2 receptors, activating them and keeping them functioning optimally. So….if we are keeping these receptors activated, then we can potentially protect ourselves from severe heart conditions and associated complications.
CB2 receptor activation attenuates the release of cardiac injury markers into the bloodstream, due to myocardial injury by exerting a cardioprotective effect. CK-MB: creatine kinase–myoglobin binding; LDH: lactate dehydrogenase.
